Welcome to the LDEO Ocean Transport Group Website!

The mission of the Ocean Transport Group is to advance scientific understanding of how stuff moves around the ocean and how this transport influences Earth’s large-scale climate and ecosystems.

We are located at Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University, in OCP 202.

This group has evolved out of a previous incarnation, which was headed by Dr. Ryan Abernathey. Dr. Abernathey now heads earthmover, which is a company working “To empower people to use scientific data to solve humanity’s greatest challenges”. The older group website may be found here.
